Louise Wilson, once a Mrs Valentine, also writes romantic fiction as Louisa Valentine.
While learning some of the novelist's craft, she belonged to Romance Writers of Australia and the Melbourne Romance Writers Guild, both excellent training grounds for writers - and fun learning places.
Louisa Valentine is an Australian author but each story is set in one of the many places around the world where she has lived and worked, creating a convincing picture of time and place and a genuine 'feel' of these places. See looking-for-love-in-all-right-places
Babyboomers like herself and Gen Xers like her daughter are bound to identify with her themes. A love triangle. A rural romance. A boss romance. Career women. Parenting, A secret baby. Infertile couples. Divorced couples. Fidelity. Independence. Star-crossed lovers longing for something - and someone - seemingly out of reach. Second chances. And that's why she writes what she writes. All definitely fiction, not fact! Happy endings guaranteed. Her stories are getting great reviews.
Many readers would describe her writing as 'women's fiction'. Louisa's 'slow burn' romance stories often feature complex relationships, the kind she likes to read herself. In her stories, rather reserved people explore relationships which evolve slowly into believable 'happy-ever-after' endings. Although underlying sexual tension does build, as with Mr Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet in 'Pride and Prejudice', the bedroom door in Louisa's stories mostly stays discreetly closed. The emphasis is on aspects of family life. Families matter! Love matters!
