Louise Wilson, once a Mrs Valentine, also writes women's fiction as Louisa Valentine, Louisa being her grandmother's pet name for her.
She writes the kind of stories that she likes to read herself, stories about rather reserved people exploring relationships which evolve slowly into believable 'happy-ever-after' endings. The emphasis is on aspects of family life.
As she has lived and worked in many places around the world, Louisa enjoys trying to convey the 'feel' of these places in the settings she chooses for her novels.
She expects that the readers most likely to identify with her themes and settings will be Babyboomers and Gen Xers.
While learning some of the novelist's craft, Louisa belonged to Romance Writers of Australia and the Melbourne Romance Writers Guild, during which time she published several posts on the MRWG Blog and contributed a short story to the MRWG's first anthology, 'Sweet and Spicy'.
She published her first full-length novel 'Retreat into Paradise' in December 2019. You'll learn a lot about the loveable ways of cattle in this book, set in a rural retreat outside Melbourne!
Her second novel 'Trading Secrets', set in Sydney's financial markets in the mid 1990s. will be published in February 2021. If you love Sydney Harbour, this is the book for you!
